This past Saturday, I spent the day with my good friend Sherry. Her husband Bob got us tickets for the Casting Crowns concert that was going to be taking place that evening. Bob, if you are reading this, you did a great job on the seats, YOU ROCK!!!! Anyway, Sherry and I thought it would be fun to spend the whole day together.
We had lunch at my place and then we decided to do a little shopping, I needed to get some stuff at Hobby Lobby. We decided to stop at Goody's on the way and I was given some very sad news. The two closest Goody's stores are closing, yep, you heard me, going out of business! It about brought a tear to my eye! For those of you who have never heard of Goody's, it's an AWESOME clothing store! Better quality then
Wal-Mart, but Wal-Mart prices!!! I even got my mom hooked on Goody's (It's okay mom, I've heard there are still a couple around, they just aren't that close!)
I treated myself to a new purse and a wallet, yes, the purse is orange! Sherry did a little damage at Goody's too, although I don't remember what she got all of a sudden. We then headed to Hobby Lobby! Sherry and I found some fun stamps for my Sunday School kids to play with, what a great teacher I am - humble too! By the time we got done in both stores, it was time for us to go eat supper and then head to the concert.
We ate our favorite place "CHILLI'S", bring on the buffalo chicken salad!!!!!
When we got to the concert, we new that our tickets were on the floor, we just didn't know how close to the stage we were going to be. Well, let me tell you, we could see all the performers and yet we weren't close enough where our hearts started taking a different beat, following the base. All of you know what I'm talking about, you have all had those seats! The ones where the only way that you can talk to the person beside you is to scream into their ear!!! It's all coming back now, isn't it.
John Waller opened the show, it was just him, his guitar player and drummer. They did good. The next act, was a group called Leeland, I had never heard of them, but Sherry knew a couple of their songs. I posted a link of one of their songs that I really liked, the song is called "Opposite Way".
Then the moment we were all waiting for, it was CASTING CROWNS time!!! They did such a great job, I thought that I had seen them before in concert, but I was wrong, I would have remembered! Sometimes you go to concerts and you can tell that it isvery much a "performance". This was not the case at all with Casting Crowns, they were there to "worship", I found myself at different times just closing my eyes and listening worshiping with them. There were two songs that they sang where an artist came out and painted on this black screen, it was incredible! I posted a video of a Jesus painting that this man had down at a church service. The video is 9 minutes long, but it is really neat.
By the time the concert was over with, I was ready to go home and sleep, I had such a fun day!!!!
Then.............Sunday night I went to my Kickball game and yours truly caught her first ball. It was awesome!!!! I had this feeling that I was going to be getting the next ball and so I said a little prayer and it was answered!!!! Apparently I had a little look of shock on my face when the ball was caught!! I probably wasn't the only one either! I was told I had great form, I'm not exactly sure what kind of form you should have when playing kickball, but I'm glad I had it! So far our team is undefeated!!!! Yeah!!!!

Where have all the good country songs gone...long time passing!
I know this maybe hard for some of you to believe this, especially since you know how big of a Country Music Fan I am, or at least was.
I just want to know what happened to good Country Music, now I know that I am going to get a lot of comments of "They have never had good Country Music". If you feel that way, you might as well just stop reading now! :-)
I am so sick of hearing Gary Allen's "Sitting Out Here Watching Airplane's" or songs from Luke Bryant, Blake Shelton, Montgomery Gentry, Jason Michael Carrol, Trent Tomlson and many more. Not only are the songs incredibly stupid, but their voices almost make my ears bleed!
Now, I do have to say, I really enjoy Josh Turner, he's got a great voice and his songs are good. Hopefully, he will have a long career.
I was even a big fan of Keith Urban's until I listened to his last cd. I had pre-ordered it and when I got it, I listened to the whole thing into work one morning (this was when I was still living in Murfreesboro), I was so mad by the time I got into work, it wasn't even funny!!!! I haven't listened to it since.
I find myself now listening to WSM Radio, that plays more of the older country. Like Kathy Mattea, Patty Loveless, Shenandoah, Sawyer Brown, Clint Black, Randy Travis, Alabama, and Reba McEntire.
Thankfully, they are still playing George Strait on the regular radio stations.
I know that Country Music radio always goes through a period where nothing good comes out for a little while, but this stretch of bad country music is getting ridiculous.
Okay, I think I am done with my little tirade.
Oh..............and then you have the play list that is 5 or 6 songs long before they repeat them. The radio stations could easily go at least 1 day with out repeating a song. Who do I need to talk to?
Wow!!!! I'm all fired up, stay out of my way!!!!!

New Layout!
Hey Everybody!
As you can see, I have changed the layout. I just wasn't feeling it with the other template. This feels more like a better fit for me.
I also added a couple more links and a new catagory.
Enjoy!

The Big "1"
This past weekend, I was able to go home for Kyle's 1st birthday party. My trip started out slow, due to being stuck at the airport about an 1.5 hours longer then I was hoping. I was supposed to get into Milwaukee at around 9pm, I didn't end up getting in until 11 pm, but hey at least I didn't have to drive!
The party was at Aunt Liz's (Amanda's sister)house on Saturday and the weather was great, so the kids played outside alot and when they weren't outside they were playing Wii (it's a new game, that all the kids are going crazy about). Apparently, the Easter Bunny brought this for Katie's cousins. All I have to say is there must be a new Easter Bunny in town, because when I was a kid, the Easter Bunny didn't drop off anything! Anyway, I was easily persuaded to play baseball on Wii and apparently became quite entertaining for those around me. Apparently, my mouth is not the only thing that I have moving constantly, it was very hard for me to keep the bat still while I was waiting for the pitch to come in and then when the pitch came in, I usually missed the ball. I guess my 20+ years of playing softball didn't help me out at all. I only played a couple of rounds with Katie's cousin Brianna and then I was saved by cousin Mason coming downstairs, wanting to play. Which I gladly handed over my control "thingy" to. I found myself starting to sweat at the workout I was getting. Oh well, I think I will just stick to the real thing.
Even though Kyle had been fighting a cold, he did such a great job at his birthday party. He loved it when everyone sang to him, he just smiled and looked around at everyone and he had no problem getting into his cake. Katie had to smoosh his hand in the cake to show him how it was done and then he took off.

I headed back to Tennessee Sunday afternoon, it was a short trip, but it was great to see the family!
God has truly blessed me with a great family!!

Links
I added some website links to my blog, I thought I would do some advertising, now I need to just look into the "royalties" part of it!
Family Pictures
Well, I don't have any exciting news or stories to share with you, but there is still plenty of the week left, so who knows...
I thought I would share some photos of my neice and nephew as well as my godchild. I will be going to Wisconsin this weekend for Kyle's 1st birthday. I'll post more pictures from that when I get back.

I can't believe how fast Katie's growing up! She will be turning 8 years old next month, she is doing really good in school (far better then her dad or her favorite aunt ever did) and she just loves sqeezing her brother.

What a little heartbreaker! Like I mentioned before, Kyle will be 1 year old this Sunday, he is crawling everywhere, he should be walking/running soon. He loves smiling and terrorizing his sister, which is usually brought on by big sister's sqeezes.

How sweet!

Strike a pose!

Casey turned 3 years old in January, she is doing really good in preschool and is making alot of new friends! She has 6 4-legged furry friends that she likes to terrorize.

The Social Butterfly
This year I am playing softball again and we will be playing double headers all season - Yikes!!! We had our first game last night, the game was really for the new umpire trainees, but we did good, even though we didn't keep score I am going to say that we won both!
I also signed up on a Kickball league, through a biblestudy called "Kairos" that I go to on Tuesday nights. Those games will be on Sunday afternoon and our first game is this Sunday. I'm looking forward to it, although I have not played kickball in a very long time, this will be interesting!
